Artist's Description
I wanted to share the last of the paintings I completed before I became ill and unable to do more. Please note that the entire proceeds of any sale in this gallery or any of my other galleries will go to a memorial scholarship my children and former students have established in my name at Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School in Beaumont, Texas. Being a part of this Fine Art America community has meant the world to me over the past years and I'd like to express my endless gratitude for all the support and encouragement you have given me so graciously. My one regret is that having lost the battle with leukemia, I have to let go of something so special to me. I won't say goodbye - just may your lives be blessed as you have blessed mine.
About Lianne Schneider
As many of you are aware, Lianne is no longer with us. I am her son, Gordie, and have kept her account active to preserve the passion she had with her art and this community. Please see below for a "final note" she posted with a few of the last pieces she completed before passing away in November of 2015. The Tide The tide came in so suddenly, lifted me, weightless, willing to be laid upon the shore, washing over me a soothing salty fragrance, kissing me with sea mist- and I- surrendering- reveled in it. But as tides will do, it ebbed and drew itself away from me, leaving me wet and weighted upon the naked shore, so far removed from the caress of the sea - and I- achingly- alone then, was bereft. I willed myself to walk away to put the loss behind me, to push the memory aside, but I was haunted and returned to feel the sea reward me for my faithfulness- and I- renewed now- close embraced it. copyright Lianne LeMieux Schneider 2008

How perfect your post of this beautiful painting of these ships ~ vessels tall and wide embarking on their journey, high in mast and billowing sail...beyond the beauty, I am reminded of yours and our own journeys and adventures and new "transitions" as you've so aptly hung in this one's title. Wishing you you fair skies and calm seas, as you travel from our view to distant horizons, beyond our sight... Yet you will always remain within the shores of my heart and so many others here who have come to know and love you...never truly lost, never forgotten xxx

Dearest Lianne, we are all heart-broken to know that you will no longer be a part of our daily art lives and circles of friendship. You've fought a good battle with such grace and dignity and you will be so missed. It is an honor to promote this work and the memorial scholarship and in that way be a part of continuing your legacy. Godspeed my friend.
