Artist's Description

A unique digital interpretation of a painting of "Fishing Boats Beating Up to Windward" by Edward Moran - hand painted digitally with adaptations and additions to the original (therefore it is not an exact "reproduction"). Moran's paintings are in the public domain. Many were printed as chromolithographs by publisher Louis Prang. It consists of 5 different layers of painting - beginning with an abstract oil, then an aged realistic oil paint, an Impressionist oil, a bristle brush thin impasto, and ending fine brush thick oil over the previous layers. Further refinement was accomplished in...

About Lianne Schneider

Lianne Schneider

As many of you are aware, Lianne is no longer with us. I am her son, Gordie, and have kept her account active to preserve the passion she had with her art and this community. My one regret is that having lost the battle with leukemia, I have to let go of something so special to me. I won't say goodbye - just may your lives be blessed as you have blessed mine." I have a passion for the landscape of...
