Description
I'm honestly not sure where the original image was taken on which I based this painting but it looks like many through which I drove so happily many years ago. This is the first of four images in this series. You might also enjoy this delightful version of "An English Country Garden" if you're of a certain age!

How many kinds of sweet flowers grow
In an English country garden?
We'll tell you now of some that we know
Those we miss you'll surely pardon
Daffodils, heart's ease and phlox
Meadowsweet and lady smocks
Gentian, lupin and tall hollyhocks
Roses, foxgloves, snowdrops, forget-me-nots
In an English country garden
How many insects come here and go
In an English country garden?
We'll tell you now of some that we know
Those we miss you'll surely pardon
Fireflies, moths and bees
Spiders climbing in the trees
Butterflies drift in the gentle breeze
There are snakes, ants that sting
And other creeping things
In an English country garden
How many songbirds fly to and fro
In an English country garden?
We'll tell you now of some that we know
Those we miss you'll surely pardon
Bobolink, cuckoo and quail
Tanager and cardinal
Bluebird, lark, thrush and nightingale
There is joy in the spring
When the birds begin to sing
In an English country garden.

Great image, it could be Lechlade, a spot where one can easily wade across the River Thames.

Lianne, this is exquisite!!!! We drove through the Cotswolds many years ago ... I'd always heard about the golden stone and couldn't wait to see it for myself ... as you've pictured here so very beautifully!!! The day we were there was gray with rain , typical English country side weather ... but the stone on the cottages still glowed golden!!!! I'm eating your amazing digital painting up ... it's like dessert for the eyes!!!!! v/f of course!!!!!!!
Lianne Schneider replied:
Isn't it just a little bit of heaven?? I have a few more images for this mini-series and just creating them brought back so many memories. Thank you so much sweet Lois. xox

I want to thank everyone who has left such beautiful comments and voted for this image. I'm very much under the weather at the moment so I'll be back to thank you personally and visit your new posts as soon as I can. I'd have done this in a blog but I don't think anyone reads them here on FAA. Thank you so much and have a good few days. xoxoxox
