Description
The second of three cascades that make up the 120 foot drop of Johnson Falls on Sheldon Creek in Western New York. Very impressive when the water is high, it slows to a trickle in the dry season. Still it's a difficult and dangerous climb down to the creek below the lowest tier and because of several fatalities, the falls are actually now closed to the public as access is through private property.
I know that the "in" thing is to photograph waterfalls with a long exposure, perhaps f 22 - but I'm a bit of a purist when it comes to waterfalls - I really like my water to look like water and not spun silk - lol. Apologies to all you brilliant photographers out there who have made such an art of the brushed look.
